The Westin Mumbai Garden City has announced the appointment of Chef Mohammad Ali Haideria as its new Executive Chef. Bringing with him nearly two decades of international culinary experience, Chef Ali joins the hotel with an impressive track record across luxury hospitality brands, fine-dining establishments, and large-scale events in India, the UAE, and Qatar.

Over the course of his 19-year career, Chef Ali has held leadership positions at some of the world’s most renowned hospitality destinations, including JW Marriott Juhu, Waldorf Astoria, St. Regis, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, and The Taj Mahal Palace. Widely respected for his operational expertise and creative approach to menu development, he will now lead the culinary vision and operations at The Westin Mumbai Garden City.

Chef Ali is particularly known for his expertise in Progressive Indian and Asian cuisines. His culinary style combines authentic regional flavors with contemporary techniques, drawing on specialties such as molecular gastronomy, avant-garde cooking, and sous-vide preparation to create memorable dining experiences.

His distinguished career has also seen collaborations with internationally acclaimed chefs including Marco Pierre White, Mauro Colagreco, and Hari Nayak. He has catered for high-profile dignitaries, including former U.S. President Barack Obama, and has earned industry recognition through accolades such as the BBC GoodFood Awards and TripAdvisor honors for his innovative approach to modern Indian cuisine.

At The Westin Mumbai Garden City, Chef Ali aims to further strengthen the brand’s commitment to wellness-driven hospitality through thoughtfully crafted culinary experiences.
